The Heat is on for Team Radioshack in Tour Down Under

The Heat is on for Team Radioshack, literally and figuratively for the Tour Down Under. It has been over 90 degrees F. And this is of course the ambient air temperature, but if you include the humidity and the radiant heat (heat coming off of the road), the actual temperature the riders feel is much hotter.

Fortunately for the riders they have wind speed to dissipate heat which we can not say for the spectators. Had this been a “distance running” event in the United States, the American College of Sports Medicine would have recommended postponing for cooler temperatures.

Good Luck Team Radioshack, Stay Cool!
