Finally! We have the list…the names…the combatants who will compete for the spoils that professional cycling will offer in 2010. Team Radioshack has released its roster of international road warriors. The travel required to cement this list, a list so diverse and global that it probably doesn’t exist outside of the Olympics, had to create some serious jet lag.
This team is as loaded as a pair of back-alley dice. Expert climbers, time trial experts, Olympic medalists, Tour winners…wow! Some names, like Bewley and Selander, are relatively unknown and belong to young hustlers with raw talent…eager to show they belong. Others are race-hardened professionals that will create the backbone for team success. The rest are household names that belong to champions yet to quench their insatiable desire to win. This coalition of cyclists allows us a peek into the strategy that Lance Armstrong and Bruyneel are piecing together for a run at an eighth maillot jaune.
The Arizona Daily Star reports that the Team will meet next month in Tucson…a Mecca for winter training, custom tailored with a handy 7000-foot, 20-plus mile climb called Mount Lemmon. Hopefully, Tucsonans will get a treat and see the Team out and about. So as the holiday season begins American cycling fans just got some early cheer. Break out the hot cider and egg nog! There’s bound to be lots of discussion about how this will all play out on the Alps, but this announcement has certainly been timed to keep the speculation at a fever pitch. Ladies and gentlemen the team has been announced…feel free to opine

Fumiyuki Beppu was announced as part of RadioShack’s 26-rider roster, despite having a year to run on his current contract with Skil-Shimano.
Skil-Shimano take up matter with Beppu
Team RadioShack have confirmed that Fumiyuki Beppu, who is under contract at Skil-Shimano until the end of 2010, has also committed to them. RadioShack’s team manager Johan Bruyneel has notified Skil-Shimano’s team management that he will hang fire to allow Skil-Shimano and the Japanese rider to clear the matter up. ‘Our lawyer Bert Kingma is working on it, we expect Beppu to ride for Skil-Shimano in 2010,’ said team manager Iwan Spekenbrink.
