First things first – Lance will not give up. Never has, never will. Not in his nature. But what is the goal now? Since he has always been quite the realist, I imagine that rather than waste the team’s chances pursuing an even longer shot now, he’ll throw all his considerable weight behind Levi’s chances and do for him what he did for Contador last year. I also think he might look for an individual stage win, should that offer itself in line with the team’s goals, to take the sour taste out of his mouth over today’s horrendous bad luck. But I look for him to do what he always has done – bust his ass on the bike, but this time to repay Levi and Andreas and Popo and Chris for all the times they busted ass for him, and never, ever give up. That’s his legacy – not the 7 consecutive tour wins. Never say die. As he said himself, “Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, it lasts forever.” Go Lance.

Lance has always been and always will be our tour champion! He will ride like this tour is as important as the last even if he is riding for Levi – or maybe especially if he may be riding for Levi. He is a man of honor, of great class and is still at the top of the tour. Lance has given us all courage to keep on keeping on and has done us all proud everyday! He is our champion but extends so far beyond cycling that this TDF is even less than icing on the cake. America watches the tour for guys like Lance, Levi, George H. the young sprinter Tyler Ferrar, AND Especially today when all the cameras were on him in his moment of difficulty. Never say quit for Lance – it just isn’t in his makeup! One thing I know for sure -I’m proud of him even if he came in dead last! Just for getting out there!

There are a lot more mountain stages to come, so I still think he can do it. But if team orders say “support Levi”, he’ll have to get used to a new role. How much pressure would that put on Levi to know that LANCE FRICKIN’ ARMSTRONG is your SUPPORT RIDER?

Great try Lance. Incredible comeback. Today’s difficulties show me just how magical yor seven victories were. Anyone of these incidences & more might have happened during every moment of those tours. I believe it was yor fierce determination and xtraodinary possitive approach that kept them out. U manifested those wins in a most spectacular way that inspires me everytime I m faced with a challange. I m grateful for the example and the thrill of seeing U in all that U do. Thanks Lance*
Sorry it went badly today. Great job! What a champion thru to the core.
I m still xcited to watch all of the tour. Its fun to watchU ride no matter what.
Magical Blessings, Heronemo

Never say never. It is a very long race. I say the bad luck is all used up and time for some good. Time for Lance to work for Levi Klodi and Chris and see how things unfold and who has the best legs. Time to throw some attacks at Astana which Lance is now free to do once he recovers from the crash and the heat. I for one think it could be a very interesting 2 weeks.

It’s sad LA has had some misfortune this TdF. I’m not a believer in bad luck, but more of the opinion that what happens or doesn’t happen to you is a result of preperation or lack thereof. Years past Lance had done so much more in preperation for the TdF and the past two years it seems his focus hasn’t been on winning the tour, but competing. His nature and personality is to win everything he tries, but I don’t believe the focus has been there like years past. Having crashed 3 times in a single day not to mention the crashes he’s encountered the past 12+ months leaves me to believe it’s focus that Lance is missing, not heart, ambition or the desire to win.
If he stays in the race I would expect him to attack his tail off and leave this final race with a feather in his helmet.
Good luck, er um, stay focused Lance.

Lance please stay on the bike. Levi, Kloden and Horner still has a great chance to win and due to you not having any luck this year at least Radioshack can still do it, hey why not go out and win a stage or 2 now. Can u do one more TDF, 2011 would be great to see. Anyone but El Pistol boy he needs a reality check and knocked off his perch.

Don’t throw in the towel on your own chances yet. As Napoleon Hill wrote, “What the mind can believe, it can achieve.” I’m in the investment business. Franklin Templeton said, ” The best time to invest is the time of maximum pessimism. The best time to sell is the time of maximum optimism.” In this case, all I have read, or heard, all day is “It is all over for Lance.” Obviously, now is the time of maximum pessimism. Strikes me it is time to attack – understanding of course that i don’t have to pedal the bike up the big d*** hill -. What an opportunity! The GC contenders think Lance is out of the race – dutifully supporting Levi – but what should they do if Lance and Chris take off up the road fairly early? Only two choices: chase and expend valuable energy benefitting Levi or concede time back to Lance with opportunity for a stage win. How many people are out there wanting to throw in the towel: in life, with cancer, with job, with marriage and Lance is their perserverance hero. If you can, I think you should attack – being realistic, but ruling out nothing!

Yes he can win. His luck will change and he’ll get back the time he lost after stage 13. Just in time to battle it out in the Pyrénées. After this tour he can do more racing just in the US and help create so of the best Competitive bike Racing in world. Ya, just like that! Go Lance.

I saw the carnage that was the beginning of the TDF 2010 . I am on my way to France this week to see the best of the best. Lance has said that you will have good days and bad. Our lives go on. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to suffer through personal tragedy and agony realize that life itself is so much sweeter. I have watched and been lifted by the performance of someone who did not give up . I have come to appreciate the lesson of perseverance through adversity as shown by people like Lance. There is no defeat in the attempt , quitting is forever. I’ll climb some of the same climbs, I’ll wear the Livestrong uniform and pay homage to someone who has given hope and courage to those who may have lost theirs. Never give up , you have already won.

Although I believe that it is unrealistic to hold out hope for Lance to get back into the GC competition, I know that he is not yet done with his last TDF! I agree 100% with Mark Mctague that Lance will find a way to put his stamp on this competition!! He will prove to be a factor in some meaningful way!!!

Lance Armstrong will be back in the race. Stage 9 shows us that he does not give up. Radio Shack would be at a great loss if they did not ask Lance to come back next year. He is the reason that the sport has gained so many new fans in spite of all the doping allegations.
Well done Lance, you make us all proud! See you at the podium in Paris.
2011 will be better.

Lance should have attached himself to the break away today (stage 10). They finished over 14min ahead of the pelaton. He could have been back in the race with only 2-3min of a gap behind the lead. what’s wrong with you lance? attack already there’s still time. You of all people should know coming back from the brink is possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!
