Merry Christmas Team Radio Shack

Merry Christmas Team Radio Shack

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…. I’ll never forget Andy Williams’ version of that Christmas song. As he lists all the things that make the season great, I feel like adding to it: not only do we have Team RadioShack to enjoy but we also have the teamradioshack.us fan site.

One of the major cell phone companies in the United States uses the term “Stay Connected” as a great incentive for considering their company. With the new independent fan site teamradioshack.us, the fans and the riders can stay connected by checking in anytime to read the latest scoop and catch the latest interviews via the latest team related videos.

While the guys are preparing for Christmas with their families, we the fans can check in and catch up on the highlights of the Team RadioShack Camp. We can also analyze how the old “bonding” process played out. From what I’ve already read the excitement and anticipation of their first year rules.

I believe Lance’s return to the world’s most grueling yet fulfilling sport has been underestimated by his critics. His personal reasons have been stated more than once but what has not been considered seriously enough is this: the Lance Armstrong 2009 comeback has brought Lance with all of his experience and expertise back to the forefront of the sport for longer than his future retirement. He is back home and he is looking forward to making a difference that will far surpass 2011.

In a certain June issue of one periodical, I read where the staff writers were having a contest guessing where Lance would end up in the final list of Tour de France riders. If I remember correctly they fell short and sorely missed the mark. I predict this year Lance Armstrong will once again surprise the armchair quarterbacks.

We need also to consider this: Lance’s ability and desire to mentor promises to produce another American phenom. So you could say this year’s revelation isn’t just a continuation of Lance’s past success, it is a new beginning. The next phase of the “Adventures of Lance Armstrong” will be the expanded version, from podium winner to mentor. And guess what? We the fans get to enjoy the ride!

Thanks Jens and teamradioshack.us, and Merry Christmas
