There has been plenty of speculation in the media and among fans regarding which Team Radioshack rider will lead the team in it’s efforts in the upcoming Tour de France. Even though Lance Armstrong is no longer riding professionally, the team still have several profiles who would fit the bill.

In an recent poll on this fan site, the fans have voted like this, so far:

Levi Leipheimer (36%, 150 Votes)
Jani Brajkovic (29%, 121 Votes)
Chris Horner (23%, 96 Votes)
Andreas Klöden (8%, 34 Votes)
Yaroslav Popovych (2%, 9 Votes)
Dmitriy Muravyev (0%, 1 Votes)
Sérgio Paulinho (0%, 1 Votes)
Haimar Zubeldia (0%, 1 Votes)
Markel Irizar (2%, 0 Votes)

There is no doubt that Levi Leipheimer‘s results in several of the bigger races this year has put him in the top spot, but other experienced riders like Chris Horner and Andreas Klöden are not to be discounted. The same goes for the young star Jani Brajkovic, who did extremely well in Tour de France last year.

According to VeloNews, Levi Leipheimer said: “We got four guys who can all be high on GC. The legs will decide (who’s the GC captain). That’s the strength of our team. Tactically, we can keep that in mind. We don’t have the big favorite, so the other teams, Saxo Bank and Leopard-Trek, will have to control the race. We can use that to our advantage.”

Is it premature to point out a possible team leader?
