Lance Armstrong: Friday is LiveStrong Day at RadioShack

As part of its new relationship with Lance Armstrong, RadioShack is planning to participate in worldwide LiveStrong Day Oct. 2.

On Friday, customers at RadioShack locations nationwide will have a chance to purchase a $1 LiveStrong wristband, with proceeds going to the Lance Armstrong Foundation.  RadioShack will also offer copies of “Comeback 2.0,” a glossy book depicting Armstrong’s return to professional cycling earlier this year. For each sale of the $32.99 book, $10 will be donated to the foundation.

Amstrong this spring announced that RadioShack will sponsor his team in the Tour de France, beginning with next year’s race.

“We have an incredible opportunity to leverage RadioShack’s connections in thousands of communities throughout the country to spread the LIVESTRONG message,” Armstrong said in a statement. “Cancer claims 8 million victims each year and is projected to be the leading cause of death worldwide by 2010. People are paying attention to cancer like never before, and our partnership with RadioShack will help us continue to raise awareness levels in communities across the country.”
