Joshua W. Larson grew up in west central Minnesota, USA.  He is an active duty U.S. Marine attending college at the University of Minnesota in the greatest bicycling city in America, Minneapolis.

He never had any desire for cycling until spring 2008, when a Marine friend needed a partner to go to RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa).  After day two of the 477-mile week long ride when he ceased to feel much of anything below his waist, he realized he was in love with the sport.  He immediately retired his $400 1991 Trek Composite and invested $4000 in an asphalt crumbling BMC/SRAM demon affectionately called the “Red Dragon.”  He’s been a cycling fan ever since.
