Janez Brajkovic (born December 18, 1983 in Metlika) is a Slovenian professional road racing cyclist who most recently rode for UCI Pro Team Astana.   He turned professional in 2005 with the KRKA-Adria Mobil Team but moved to Discovery Channel halfway into that season staying there through 2006 and 2007 before moving to Astana.  A rising star, he reportedly turned down larger offers from Katusha, Rabobank and Team Sky to stay with Johan Bruyneel and Lance Armstrong at Team RadioShack for the 2010 season.

A very good time trialest and climber he has experience in Grand Tours appearing in 2 Vueltas and 1 de Giro where he surprised many with his impressive performance in several stages.  His major stage race win to date is the 2007 Tour de Georgia victory, which was particularly gratifying given that he was a last minute addition scheduled to ride support for Tom Danielson and Levi Leipheimer.

His major results include: 1st U23 World Time Trial Championships and 2nd U23 European Time Trial Championship in 2004, 3rd U23 European Time Trial Championships in 2005, 1st Young Rider Competition Tour de Georgia, 2nd Stage 5 and held the Leader’s Jersey, KOM Jersey and the Young Rider’s Jersey for stages 7 and 8 of the Vuelta a España and 5th overall in the Tour de Suisse in 2006, 1st overall and 1st Young Rider Competition Tour de Georgia in 2007, 2nd overall Giro del Trentino, 3rd overall Deutschland Tour and 7th overall Tour of Austria in 2008, 1st National Time Trial Champion and 2nd overall Giro del Trentino in 2009.
