Grégory Rast (born January 17, 1980 in Cham) is a Swiss professional road bicycle racer who most recently rode for the UCI Pro Team Astana. He turned professional in 2001 with the Post Swiss Team. In 2003-2006 he raced for Phonak Hearing Systems, and then rode with Astana from 2007-2009.
Rast has a very impressive Swiss National Road Race Championships record having won once in the Under 23 Category in 2002 and then winning the overall Men’s Category twice in both 2004 and in 2006.
His major results include; 3rd in the 2005 Paris-Bourges, 2nd in the 2006 Giro del Piémonte, 3rd in the 2006 GP Kanton Aargau, 1st overall and 1st Stage 4 in the 2007 Tour de Luxembourg, 1st in the 2008 Grand Prix Instanbul, 5th overall in the 2008 Four Days of Dunkirk, 1st with his teammates in the Stage 4 Team Time Trial at the 2009 Tour de France, 1st in the Prologue of the 2009 Tour de Luxembourg, and 1st in the Sprints Classification of the 2009 Tour de Romandie (where he wore the yellow leader’s jersey for two days).
