Today Team Radioshack participated in Grand Prix Ouest-France Plouay (248,3km), with the following riders: Matthew Busche, Daryl Impey, Markel Irizar, Geoffroy Lequatre, Sérgio Paulinho, Yaroslav Popovych, Ivan Rovny & Haimar Zubeldia.
Already on the first lap 8 riders tried to break away, and Team Radioshack rider Ivan Rovney was quick to join the group that consisted of Benoit Vaugrenard, Mickael Delage, Pablo Urtasun, Mathieu Drujon, Yukihiro Doi, Danny Pate and Mangel. But after having gained a gap of 2,5 minutes, HTC-Columbia finally caught up with the group app. 30km before the finish.
On the final lap another group tried to break away. The group consisted of Bjorn Leukemans, Daniele Pietropolli, Laurent Mangel and Wouter Poels, but soon Radioshack’s Haimar Zubeldia and three other riders joined the attackers, who were all caught again with only 5km to go. Soon the sprinter teams got ready to position their riders, and Matthew Goss was the fastest, pushing Tyler Farrar down to second place.
Although Daryl Impey, Sergio Paulinho and Yaroslav Popovych did not finish the race, Team Radioshack can be satisfied to see Rovny and Zulbedia in good form in several of the attacks.
