The patience of sports. When competing you are 110% carefully moving forward, in all sports. Cycling is just so much more adventurous as it is you and two wheels, two very skinny wheels. Forward momentum is true in all great atheltes especially the likes of Johan, sure glad he is on our side.

Comedians from Belgium?? I think Belgium produces better cyclists, beer and frites than comedians. Glad Johan is on Lance’s side.

Sophia, Maybe I was a bit harsh on Belgiums. Really nice people once you get to know them. And oh, Johann driving your car…I forgot to mention he’d do about half that driving with his knees cause his hands were full!

So that is where he learned to be so calm and cool in the middle of the madness they call professional cycling. I don’t know how he does it, but I’m also glad he is on our side. I can’t think of a better sports director for the team than Johan.

It’s strange you should say Belgians are “subdued, flat.” Some of the whackiest comedians come from Belgium. Great sense of humour, greatly helped by great food and great beer. Surely that helped form Johan Bruyneel as much as the bad weather and wicked cobbles.

By the way, from what I have read, I’d never let Johan drive my car. Gunslinger is maybe too apt a description! As you say, however, “I’m glad he’s on our side”!
