David fell in love with bikes early during the BMX craze of the late 70’s, even building his own bike from scratch at 10 years old. Upon getting his driver’s license, though, cycling took a back seat to school and then marriage and then kids. Having gained some weight over the years, he decided to train for a triathlon in 2005 but failed to compete upon breaking his arm that spring. However, cycling still held a strong interest for him once the arm healed. Watching Lance in his (then) last Tour de France influenced David to buy his first road bike and he has been logging miles and watching the pro pelaton ever since.
