Chris Horner’s Team RadioShack diary: Ready for Paris-Nice

The first Team RadioShack training camp of the season was held in Calpe, Spain. Our camp was starting a little later then most of the other Euro teams this year on the account of the Tour Down Under stage race being held in late January in Australia. With a full team attending, our team decided to hold camp after the race so that more riders could attend. Right after camp, the team will be spread thin, with riders racing in smaller races throughout Portugal, Spain, and Italy for the month of February to fine tune our fitness before the big races start in March.

At camp, we were delighted to get mostly sunshine for our 10 days of training, only seeing rain on our rest day and on the last day of camp. But by the last day, we were all so tired that I think every one was praying for the rain to arrive to cut our training short! When the predicted rain still hadn’t arrived by breakfast on the last day, most of the team was devastated!
