Christopher Horner (born October 23, 1971 in Bend, Oregon) is an American professional road bicycle racer who most recently rode for the UCI Pro Team Astana. He previously rode for NutraFig, Française Des Jeux, Mercury, Prime Alliance, Saturn, Webcor Builders, Saunier Duval-Prodir, and Davitamon-Lotto. He turned professional in 1995.
Chris has been a dominant figure in American cycling having won the points standings in the 2002, 2003, and 2004 USA Cycling National Racing Calendar. After winning his first major victory in a stage win of the Tour DuPont in 1996, he signed with the French team Français des Jeux. However after 3 frustrating seasons (1997-1999) he returned to America and resumed a record-setting domestic career.
He has won almost every important race in the US. His major results include 4 overall wins in the Redlands Bicycle Classic (2000, 2002, 2003, and 2004, ), 1st overall in Le Tour de Langkawi (2000), 1st overall Tour de Georgia (2003), 1st overall Sea Otter Classic (2004). Additional overall wins in 2004 include The Pomona Valley and Temecula stage races. He has garnered numerous stage wins and high-placed finished in other races in the U.S. as well as in major road races throughout Europe.
Chris exhibited very good form (after recovering from several racing injuries) at the finish of the 2009 season, finishing 11th in the Giro di Lombardia while riding for Astana.

Good luck this year Chris. Try to stay upright. By the way it is Bend, not Brend

Chris, Good catch, ‘Brend’, Oregon – not ‘Bend.’ Tho when I started reading your comment I thought you were going for Bend not Break – referring to an earlier story. Thx for the correction.

Go, Chris! Hey, thanks for being nice to my daughters/others at the pool back when they were lifeguards at ALT in Cool – their friend was being an idiot (“Nice tan line!”), and I was an idiot not to figure out who you were at the time they told me (several years ago).
Lots of pro jerseys riding here on the weekends; wish we could blast away a bike lane in the canyon. Got Money/Clout?
Bro-in-law from Idaho and his nephew from Lance’s shop in Austin coming out to home town Nevada City for the May tour; can’t wait – taping-off Paris-Nice for Idaho guy as I write -
Go, Chris and Radio Shack!

Mr. Horner,
Today was a classic example of why you are one of the classiest riders in the Peleton . Escorting Mr. Van Garderen home up Alpe D’Huez was one of the greatest show’s of Sportsmanship I have seen in a longtime. Very Well Done!!!
